Hey, Devils Fans!
How nice would it be to get right back in the W (...or OT) column tonight in FLA?! Let's go!!! 🔥

NEED CAREER AVG. PRODUCTION
From Nico, Timo, and Bratter.
Even with Jack in the lineup, the Devils had been, and still are, trending in the wrong direction in essentially every major category. This is especially the case offensively, as the Devils are scoring at bottom-five rates at both 5v5 (#31) & on the PP (#28) in November.
For me, it will be a must that these three guys, at a minimum, produce at their career rates for the next 25-30ish games until Jack comes back, because the Devils are on life support offensively right now.
NEED A STREAKY STRETCH OF HOCKEY
From Noesen, Cotter, and Pally.
Coming off career years (or, in Pally’s case, his most goals as a Devil), nobody knew how these three guys would follow it up this season. And, well, as much as I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, we are at the point now — 20 games in with Jack out of the lineup — where these guys need to produce and find their “streaky” part of the season. They would each be the first to tell you that a 4-goal pace this season is not nearly enough!

TALKIN' NEMO w/ SAM
In case you missed it, I had a blast chattin' it up with Sam Kasan after practice yesterday! ⤵️

CLAWING BACK? 🐆
After a relatively shaky start due to all their devastating injury news, FLA is starting to rediscover their championship form over the last 10 games, posting a 6-3-1 record that includes winning three of their last four. During this stretch, they are scoring at the 6th highest rate, and are coming off an 8-5 W vs. VAN where a franchise-record 16 different players (including Bobrovsky!) recorded at least a point. So, you know they’ve got a lot of guys in that room feeling good about their game right now, which makes them an especially dangerous team to play against tonight. The Devils have to be ready to start on time, as they are not catching FLA on a second half of a B2B like they did in October!

HAVE TO BE ON PEST CONTROL 🐀
Brad Marchand is still playing like he’s in his prime at 37 years old, entering tonight’s game T-2nd in the NHL in Goals (13), 4th in Drawn Penalties (11), and riding an 11-Game Point Streak (10-7–17 PTS).
The Devils need to be aware of when FLA#63 is on the ice tonight in order to neutralize him and end his point streak!
STAY OUT OF THE BOX ‼️
The Devils’ PK has conceded 4 PPGs in its last 4 games, including two to Guentzel last game in Tampa. Now, with your PK struggling, you’re looking straight into the eyes of a Panthers PP that has scored in four straight games (6/19) and is executing at a top-3 rate at home (30.8%) this season. On top of that, what we’re seeing is that teams are coming into these games against FLA thinking they have to match the intensity and not get pushed around by the “big bad bullies” narrative around the Panthers, which has resulted in the FLA drawing the most PP opportunities/GP (4.00) and tied for the most total roughing minors (17).
The Devils cannot fall into this trap. There has to be a heavy emphasis on playing controlled and staying out of the box, especially early on in this game, as the Devils simply cannot afford to find themselves chasing games right now. Psychologically, they need to score first – They are 9-0-1 when doing so.
Join Rachel and me on our pregame show tonight as we discuss these topics more in depth and break down the importance of Allen and Marky locking things down in net. It all starts at 6:30 p.m. on MSGSN!
