BROWN • GLASS • GRITSYUK
Arseny, Brownie, & Cody, “The ABC Line,” made it look as easy as 1, 2, 3 with the three Goals they factored in on in OTT, including the GWG!
Together as a line, when on ice 5v5, SATs were 10-4, Shots were 7-1, Scoring Chances were 5-0 (including 3 HD), and Goals were 3-0 — all in their favor.
Boy, if this line can build some sustained momentum as we move forward here, watch out, because this could become one of the most complete third lines in the league.

SENS POKED THE BEAR & PAID THE PRICE!
Marky had a shaky start, but I loved the fierce, Vintage Marky compete that came out of him in the second half of this game after OTT decided they could get away with going hard, recklessly into his blue paint with the intention to knock Marky down, before the refs finally stepped in and called an interference minor on Tkachuk in the 3rd period.
Sheldon said it best – you encroach on Marky like OTT did, and you’re going to have to deal with the best version of him because of his extreme competitive nature. And Sheldon is exactly right, historically speaking! 👀 ⬇️

EGREGIOUS NIGHT FOR THE SPECIAL TEAMS
For the Devils to pull out this win, despite going 0/3 on both the PP and PK, was quite impressive.
But, with that said, the special teams – specifically the PK – have to immediately rebound tonight, and I expect they will, as the last time the Devils conceded 3+ PPGs (4 PPGA in COL back on Oct. 28), they responded with 11 straight kills over the course of their next 5 games. Tonight has to be a similar response for the PK, because TBL’s PP tore the Devils apart in November, going 2/3 with two Guentzel PPGs in that game.

JON COOPER REFUSES TO LOSE 5 IN A ROW
TBL is coming off a 6-1 beat-down W in MTL on Tuesday night to snap the four-game losing streak they were riding entering that game. And, for me, this comes as no surprise, as I was looking into Jon Cooper’s track record, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I discovered that he has never lost 5 consecutive games in regulation through his 990 NHL games coached with TBL. He can soon become the first coach in NHL history to go 1,000 games without losing five in a row...
To say a stat like this is impressive would be an understatement. But, at the same time, it just goes to show you one of the many reasons why Cooper is the longest-tenured active HC in the NHL, now in his 13th full season with the Bolts and two Stanley Cups on his resume.

JONAS JOHANSSON
Fortunately, the Devils have avoided a rematch with Vasy — who stopped 3 Goals Above Expected against the Devils back in November — as he remains on IR for tonight’s game. As a result, the Devils will likely face Jonas Johansson between the pipes for TBL, who is in a potentially vulnerable spot right now, seeing this will be the first time he has ever started 5 consecutive games in the span of 8 days. Take advantage; make him feel the fatigue!!

Tune into our pregame show tonight as Cory, Rachel, and I break down all of these topics in-depth with some footage. Let's make it two in a row tonight - LGD!!!
