Yes, my Jays lost last night, but the Devils were able to survive the distractions on the jumbotron and get the response they needed with a W in LA. At the end of the day, that's what mattered most!!!
MARKY BOUNCED BACK
We all talked about Marky needing a huge response game to the worst start of his career in COL, and boy, did he ever get the job done. Marky was rock solid, posting a .977 Sv% on 43 shots, 35 Scoring Chances (22 HD Chances), and ultimately, saving almost 3 Goals Above Expected. Hopefully, this game was an indication that the dip in his play was a result of the contract distraction.
OUTSTANDING PK & DEFENSIVE EFFORT
Despite the shots and scoring chances counter looking ugly, the team defended extremely well in front of Marky. The Devils blocked 28 shots, the most since Nov. 13, 2024, and the PK did an outstanding job weathering the storm without Pesh, Brownie, (and Nico when he was in the box) in a game where they didn’t get a single PP opportunity… 4/4 with 2 SHGs!

THE CAPTAIN SNAPS HIS GOAL DROUGHT
The Captain must’ve heard Rachel and me talking about his 7-game goal drought in the pregame show, because he wasted no time getting the Devils going with his tip-in just 1:22 into the game. And yes, it was Luke’s 100th career point - the fastest NJD Defenseman ever to 100! What an impressive milestone! 👏
DUCK HUNTER TIMO NEXT UP TO SNAP DROUGHT?!
Now that Nico got his drought out of the way, the next goal drought I'm looking to be snapped is Timo's (8 GP). Timo loves playing the Ducks, and especially at Honda Center, as you see in the graphic below. Overall vs. ANA, he has 16 Goals, 14 Assists, & 30 PTS, all of which are his most against any team - and also has a hat trick against them. It's time for Timo to go Duck Hunting again. 🦆👀

With a win in ANA tonight, the 2025-26 Devils could be the first team in franchise history to sweep each of their first two back-to-back sets in a season! Let's make some more history!!! 🔥
