Seeing that everyone came at Coach Ruff with "Fire Lindy" and "Sorry Lindy" chants already this season, now that the Devils have clinched a playoff spot, it's time to start the "Jack Adams For Lindy"chants!
Coach Ruff has been instrumental in leading the Devils to a successful season and clinching the first playoff spot since the 17/18 season. More impressive, it's been the first time the Devils have reached the 100-point mark in a season since my cup run in 2012, over a decade. Crazy! I've praised Lindy for his ability to develop young talent and, more importantly, his ability to ride this rollercoaster of a season. Talk about coming into a season positioned as a sitting lame duck once GM Tom Fitzgerald fired his then-current assistant coaches and elected to hire not just assistant coaches, but also an associate head coach in Andrew Brunette.
The team has shown substantial improvement under Coach Ruff's leadership this season, with a record of 46-19-8 going into tonight's game. Remember, this was after everyone was looking for Lindy to be fired, only after the first seven periods of hockey this season! And, when it is all said and done, it's been a historic season for the franchise, and Lindy should win his 2nd Jack Adam's Trophy of his career. Coach Ruff showed outstanding resilience and leadership all season. "Jack Adams For Lindy!"
